I need some help attributing Helen Burnett Barham to a family with brothers David Burnett and William Burnett. All were present in London in the late 1600s. Helen Burnett had married Richard Barham, believed to be a son of Robert and Katherine Filmer Barham of Kent, later of St. Andrews/ Holborne/ Middle***. Richard and Helen may have married in Scotland around 1655, and baptized at least two children there, neither present at the time of Richard's death in 1690. His PCC will, written in 1674 and amended several times before probate in 1690, states that his "loving brothers" were David Burnett, curate of St. Martin in the Fields, Middle***; and William Burnett, doctor of medicine in London. The latter, William Burnett, may be the same as one who died in 1697, leaving a widow Ursula, and eldest son Obediah. I've not yet located a will for Rev. David Burnett, but I suspect he would have died ca. 1695-1710, most likely in London.

Surviving children of Richard and Helen Burnett Barham in 1690 were daughters Cecilia, Katherine, and Susannah Barham, plus son Alexander Barham. The family were members of St. Margarets, Westminster.

Cursory research suggests that all were children of Thomas and Margaret Johnston Burnett of Aberdeen, though enumerations of this family group never include a daughter Helen. Given that St. Nicholas/ Aberdeen's baptismal registers are famously incomplete, the possibility still exists that Helen was indeed their daughter. Any and all help at solving my dilemma is welcome!
