The 2009 Burnett Gathering - Ceilidh at Woodend Barn
Woodend Ceilidh The evening entertainment was Dinner and Ceilidh at Woodend Barn. Here we were joined by 50 members of Clan Irvine and a number of Clan Hay including a contingent of Hays from Belgium. Music was to Clachan Yell led by Alasdair Johnston accompanied by talented young local fiddle duo Maxine Cordiner and Stuart Robertson and we heard a rendering on the Northumbrian Pipes by Suzanne Sant Angelo and some piping by the Hay pipers. However, the principal activity was Scottish dancing and all participated assisted by some members of the Reel Club for many dances including the Dashing White Sergeant, Strip the Willow, the Gay Gordons, Boston Two Step, Virginia Reel and Circassian Circle.
