Crathes Programme

1st – 8th August

Access to Crathes Castle and Gardens during the week.

Guided Castle, Gardens and Archaeological tours and, for the bravest, the Castle Tower Ghost Tour

The Aboyne Highland Games

Burnett Luncheon

Guided visit to the Loch of Leys and the Crannog

Lecture and Supper – Family History and Heraldry with Charles Burnett, former Ross Herald

Afternoon visit to Kemnay House, home of the Burnetts of Kemnay

Re-enactments of the Barony Court Trials with visitor participation and (voluntary) use of stocks for the guilty miscreants!)

Croquet on the Castle lawn with Bob Burnett former British champion

Guided estate tours including a visit to the Highland Cattle Centre

Demonstration by Iain Burnett, the Highland Chocolatier

Go-Ape Treetop Adventure

Guided walk to the Burnett Monument on nearby Scolty Hill

Scottish Country Dance lessons and Ceilidh Workshops

Journey on the Deeside Railway – with country dancing

Grand Ceilidh at Woodend Barn

Farewell Barbecue

Northern Tour including Ballindalloch Castle, Speyside Cooperage & Glenlivet Distillery

Salmon Fishing on the River Dee

Culloden, Inverness; Loch Ness, Eilean Donan Castle, Isle of Skye, Armadale Castle and cross by the ferry to Mallaig

Journey on the Jacobite Steam Train,
